This spring, Certified Anusara Teacher and SMY Director Emma Magenta is really excited to be presenting Part One of the Anusara Yoga Immersion. An Immersion is just more of what you love about yoga! Read on to find out more, and/or come to our
Ever had that feeling during class that there's a lot more to know about a certain pose, or alignment technique, or idea, but the teacher is only giving you a piece of it because of time constraints? Well, an Immersion is a way to learn about many topics that we can't fully explore during a weekly class. Over a series of three weekends, we'll "immerse" ourselves in a systematic exploration of the physical and spiritual foundations of Anusara yoga through teachings and techniques that foster personal growth. The full, 3-part Immersion is a pre-requisite for Teacher Training with any Certified Anusara Yoga teacher, but the whole point of an immersion is that you shouldn't have to become a teacher to learn more about what you love.
You'll leave the Immersion with:
- greater ease and delight in your body
- new insights into your place in the world, your relationships, and your life's journey
- a fuller understanding of yoga's history, philosophy, and diversity
- new friends who share your interests and support your growth
You might be concerned that it's all asana. You might be concerned that it's all sitting and listening. Don't panic! Sessions alternate between more up-tempo periods of asana practice and more contemplative periods of group discussion, meditation, and pranayama.
Anyone who has had at least 30 hours of Anusara yoga (that's approx 20 classes), LOVES YOGA!, and wants to learn more about him/herself and Anusara yoga. An Immersion is NOT only for super-experienced people who are already experts. It's for anyone!
