Parent & Baby (0-crawl):
Challenge and stretch your postpartum body while bonding with your baby in a new and special way. This class creates a soothing environment where you can witness your baby's growing personality and changing body without being distracted by the outside world. Classes will teach baby massage, stretching and relaxation exercises, ideal holding positions and more. Games and songs will be used to keep your baby engaged.
Parent & Toddler (walk-3):
At a time when toddlers are beginning to find their own voices and learn about their bodies, yoga is an ideal way for you and your child to explore these changes together. Simple yoga poses will be taught through songs, stories and games. Parents are encouraged to participate as a model for children to imitate. Parent/child partner poses will also encourage participation and help strengthen the special bond between you and your child.
Grasshoppers (3-5):
A drop-off class for your little yogi that encourages the learning of basic yoga poses through engaging songs, movement and games. Kindness and respect for themselves and others is taught through storytelling and imaginative play. Watch your preschooler develop physical and emotional confidence as he or she becomes a master of basic yoga.
Fireflies (5-7):
After a full day of school, your child needs a place to unwind with simple breathing and relaxation techniques that they can incorporate into their everyday lives. Basic as well as more challenging yoga poses are taught in an environment that teaches acceptance and respect while remaining extremely imaginative and playful. Yoga games encourage learning while helping children successfully master and retain new poses. Partner and group poses will teach cooperation and encourage creative thinking.
Lions (8-12):
Your child will build self-confidence, strength, and concentration while gaining basic understanding of a wider range of yoga poses. Breathing practices, relaxation and meditation techniques will be taught to help kids deal with the stress of their busy lives. The benefits of poses in relation to their lives and how the poses make them feel will be an ongoing topic of discussion. Yoga games will remain a part of this class since this age group still likes to be silly and have fun!
Eagles (12+):
While your teen wants to be treated like an adult, he or she still enjoys being surrounded by peers in a positive learning environment. Basic and more advanced yoga poses will be taught in a way that encourages teens to love and honor their bodies and to love their inner and outer selves. Gentle encouragement will allow your teen to master difficult poses, supporting positive self esteem. Yoga journals will enable them to track personal progress. Yoga will enhance physical and emotional strength, build focus, and teach calming techniques that can be used in the face of everyday stress.
